01 About these Terms
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the MyPDFWire website, the in-browser web converter, and any related online services (collectively, the "Service") operated by MyPDFWire ("we," "us," or "our").
By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. Your use of the downloadable desktop application is additionally subject to the End-User License Agreement; if there is a conflict between these Terms and the EULA, the EULA controls for the desktop application.
02 The Service
MyPDFWire lets you convert .docx documents to PDF — either by downloading the Windows desktop application or by using the optional browser-based converter. The Service is provided free of charge for personal and internal business use.
Local processing
Conversions occur on your device. We do not receive, upload, or store your document contents. The web converter loads the open-source conversion engine and font assets from our origin into your browser the first time you use it; your browser may cache those assets for subsequent visits.
03 Eligibility
You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction (or have your parent or guardian's consent) to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
04 Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Use the Service to convert or distribute content you don't have the right to convert or distribute.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach any security or authentication measures.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or the servers and networks that host it (including via excessive automated requests).
- Use the Service to develop a competing product, scrape it at scale, or resell access.
- Misrepresent your affiliation with us or impersonate any person or entity.
05 Your Content
You retain all rights to the documents you convert and the PDFs the Service produces (your "Content"). Because conversion is performed locally, we do not claim any license over your Content. You are solely responsible for your Content and for ensuring you have the necessary rights to convert and use it.
06 Privacy
We operate on a privacy-by-default basis: no account is required, and document contents are not transmitted to our servers. Standard server logs (such as IP addresses and request paths) may be recorded for security, abuse prevention, and operational diagnostics, and are retained only for as long as needed for those purposes.
07 Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, logos, and content (excluding your Content and open-source components covered by their own licenses), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited rights expressly granted by these Terms, no rights are transferred to you. The MyPDFWire name and logo are trademarks of their respective owners.
08 Third-Party Links
The Service may link to or incorporate third-party websites or open-source components. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party sites, and inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement.
09 Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR PRODUCE PIXEL-PERFECT CONVERSIONS FOR EVERY DOCUMENT.
10 Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED USD $50. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO PARTS OF THIS SECTION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
11 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold MyPDFWire harmless from any claim, demand, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
12 Modifications & Termination
We may modify the Service, these Terms, or any feature at any time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after the new effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for any reason, including breach of these Terms.
13 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States of America, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. The exclusive venue for any dispute is the state or federal courts located in New Castle County, Delaware, except where mandatory consumer law grants you the right to file suit elsewhere.
